Course information

Introduction to Neuroscience and Learning Engineering provides students with a foundational understanding of how the brain learns and how this knowledge can be applied to the design of innovative, inclusive, and evidence-based learning experiences. Drawing on principles from cognitive neuroscience, the learning sciences, and learning engineering, the course explores the relationship between brain processes, cognition, motivation, memory, and the use of technology to optimize learning across diverse educational contexts.
Throughout the course, students will analyze key concepts, theoretical models, and case studies, developing the ability to interpret scientific evidence, evaluate instructional strategies, and propose evidence-informed solutions to educational challenges. They will also strengthen competencies in critical thinking, data analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making while incorporating ethical and global perspectives.
