MV. Research 1V (2019-1)

Performing and publishing research plays a crucial role in driving changes in educational practice and policy. The Research 1 course introduces you to the practical aspects of professional-level research on English-language teaching, beginning with the technical skills and competences required for background/library research and professional research writing. During this semester, you are associated with one of the department's several research areas, and you write a theoretical framework paper on certain topics relevant to the study of that area, making use of resources provided through the university library. Your work this semester forms the foundation for your work in the second-semester Research 2 course, and successfully completing the Research 1 course is a prerequisite for enrolling in the Research 2 course.
