Performing and publishing research plays a crucial role in driving changes in educational practice and policy. The Research 1 course introduces you to the practical aspects of professional-level research on English-language teaching, beginning with the technical skills and competences required for background/library research and professional research writing. During this semester, you are associated with one of the department's several research areas, and you write a theoretical framework paper on certain topics relevant to the study of that area, making use of resources provided through the university library.
