Within this course, you will be looking at the fundamentals of self-access materials design by analyzing your teaching context and individual and collaborative construction of knowledge. You will learn how to design, adapt, and use self-access materials to encourage your learners’ autonomy, and support them in the development of language skills that allow them to self-direct their language learning.

A SAM (Self-Access Materials) will enable you to reflect, experiment, and explore a range of tools and means of computer-mediated communication to enhance your understanding of collaboration online.  You will also be expected to pursue individually and collectively topics of specific interest. You will be able to design your own SAMs and share them with colleagues to receive their feedback.

Welcome to the Content and Language Integrated Learning course! The overall goal of this course is for you to identify areas that need improvement and apply solutions in terms of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in your teaching. We all know what it is like to see students stumbling over concepts, processes, or creating products. We often assume they have the previous linguistic or content knowledge to be successful—but, many times, we find we have to supplement their instruction. But how can we best do this? With what? And at what point? These are all questions to be examined, discussed, and—hopefully—answered in this course.
